We use Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) to monitor and control traffic safety measures, including traffic lights and their operation. This helps us to manage traffic flow across the city.
If a traffic light is faulty, it is automatically picked up by our system and will alert our Traffic Control Centre. We will then attend the fault to inspect it, and if necessary we will contact our maintenance contractors to fix the fault.
There may be times when our systems do not pick up a fault. For example, if there is physical damage to a traffic light pole.
You should only contact us about a damaged traffic light if there is a risk to life or limb.
