Neighbourhood regeneration is the process of updating areas so they meet current needs. This can involve changes to:
- housing,
- streets,
- public spaces, and
- local services.
We work with residents and partners to:
- understand issues,
- plan improvements, and
- manage disruption.
Our aim is to make sure our neighbourhoods remain safe and able to support the people who live and work in them.
Neighbourhood renewal schemes
The neighbourhood renewal schemes programme is based on regeneration priorities identified by ward councillors, as representatives of local communities.
The programme delivers regeneration projects all over the city ranging from:
- new parks,
- street improvements, or
- community safety improvements.
Find the completed projects on the Cardiff Development and Regeneration website.
Housing estate regeneration
The estate regeneration programme focuses on delivering schemes which enhance the environment of housing estates throughout the city.
The aim is to:
- create safer and more attractive communities,
- improve the quality of life for residents, and
- promote pride in the community and respect for the environment.
